Terminal Board

EMAC's Terminal Board expands the capabilities of the EPAC systems by providing the following:

  • Over 80 Terminal points to wire sensors, digital inputs, digital outputs, and power supply lines.
  • Four Analog Signal Conditioning sockets.
  • A precision Analog Card Voltage regulator and an EPAC Voltage regulator.
  • 16 I/O status LEDs
  • 8 optional Solid State Relays

EMAC's Terminal Board shares uniform dimensions (8" by 5.25") and mounting holes with the EPAC series of computers allowing the Terminal Board to directly plug into the EPAC computers via the 40 pin I/O connector. For remote connections, a ribbon cable can be used between the Terminal Board and the I/O connector.

Four sockets on the Terminal Board allow Analog Signal Conditioning Cards to be utilized with EPAC systems. Each card adapts sensor inputs into signals suitable for input to the EPAC Analog to Digital Converter. Up to 16 Analog Signal Conditioning circuits (4 per card) can be plugged into the Terminal Board at one time. Preconditioned sensors that do not require routing through a card can be sent directly to A/D Converter by the use of a dipswitch.

The Terminal Board has a 5 Volt and two 8 Volt regulators. The 5 Volt and one of the 8 Volt regulators are used to power Analog Conditioning Cards and the other 8 Volt regulator is used to power the EPAC system.

Sixteen LEDs included on the Terminal Board act as indicators for the digital I/O status of the system.

Eight Solid State Relays are an available option on the Terminal Board. Outputs generated from the EPAC can be sent to the solid state relays or sent to the screw terminal connectors.

The Analog Signal Conditioning Cards condition transducer signals for use with systems that accept a 0 - 5 volt analog input signal. These Cards can be used stand-alone for use in MicroPac and iPac systems. They also have the provision to plug directly into any one of the Analog Card Sockets found on the Terminal Board for use with EPAC systems. Each card is 4.25" by 2.25" in size.

Multi- Voltage Input Card (A High)

The Multi- Voltage Card has four independent analog input circuits. This card adapts Voltages such as 0V to +5V, 0V to +10V, -5V to +5V, -10V to +10V ... to that of the EPAC system. Accuracy of the card is 0.25%.

Multi- Voltage Input Card (B Low)

The Multi- Voltage Card has four independent analog input circuits. This card adapts Voltages such as 0V to +50mV, 0V to +100mV, -50mV to +50mV, -100mV to +100mV ... to that of the EPAC system. Accuracy of the card is 0.5%.

J or K Thermocouple Card

The J or K Thermocouple Card has four independent temperature signal conditioning circuits. This card is designed to signal condition type J or K thermocouples to meet the input Voltage specifications of the EPAC system.. Accuracy of the card is ±1° C.

Platinum RTD Card

The Platinum RTD Card has four independent temperature signal conditioning circuits. Each circuit provides a compensation line, allowing long line lengths without loss of accuracy. This card signal conditions Platinum RTDs to meet the input Voltage specifications of the EPAC system.. Accuracy of the card is ±1° C.

4 to 20 mA Current Input Card

The 4 to 20mA Current Input Card has four separate current input circuits. Each circuit has a high impedance input to assure a minimal Voltage drop and maintain accuracy. This card accepts 4 to 20mA of current and produces the appropriate Voltage for use with the EPAC system.

Pressure/Strain Gauge Card

The Pressure/Strain Gauge Card has four separate differential Voltage inputs. This card accepts input form most pressure and strain gauges and provides the appropriate Voltage for use with EPAC systems. Accuracy of this card is 0.5%.

Temperature Sensor Card

The Temperature Sensor Card has four separate sensor inputs. This card is designed for use with Micro Switch Precision temperature sensors (TD Series). The sensors are resistive devices with a range from -40 to 150° C. Accuracy of this card is ±1° C.
