LOW COST ATOM BASED 15” PANEL PC

Carbondale, Illinois, Feb 1, 2011— EMAC, Inc. announces the PPC-IP15 an Intel Atom Panel PC with a 15" TFT color LCD (resolution up to 1024 x 768) and a resistive touch screen. Unlike other Panel PCs, the PPC-IP15 comes with either Windows XP Embedded or Linux fully configured and installed on the 80 GB hard drive, or flash disk. This allows the software engineer to concentrate on writing applications and not have to worry about configuration and setup. Just apply power and watch the Windows XPE User Interface appear on the vivid color LCD. Interact with the PPC-IP15 using the responsive, integrated touch screen.

The PPC-IP15 Panel PC has an embedded Atom N270 1.6 GHz Fanless CPU. This slim profile Panel PC (only 69mm(2.72”) in depth), supports up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM. For more rugged applications the PPC-IP15 can also be provided with an EmbedDisk or Compact Flash. The PPC-IP15 can be connected to a network using the 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet controller and it's two onboard RJ-45 connectors.

The PPC-IP15 offers two RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port. Also provided are four USB 2.0 host ports, Audio Line-Out, Line-In, Mic-Out ports and two PS/2 ports. The Power Supply, 80GB HDD and 1GB Ram are included with the unit.

When developing XPE applications for the PPC-IP15, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 can be utilized. For Linux application development, EMAC provides a Free Eclipse IDE. Both Visual Studio and Eclipse provide everything the user needs for developing PPC-IP15 applications. All the compiling, converting, downloading, and debugging inherent to software development can be done from one easy to use high level interface. EMAC provides an SDK for the PPC-IP15, which contains source examples and drivers.
